The team continued their excellent work examining the archives in preparation for our digitisation project. Some very interesting hidden gems were found which prompted much discussion amongst the members. Particularly striking, were the images they found and an original Red Cross letter; which left the volunteers with plenty of ‘food for thought’. A hot topic of discussion for the team is the forthcoming ‘Exhibitions on a Shoestring’ training that some of us are attending next week at the National Civil War Centre. Top topic was the debate over what type of mannequin to use for displaying our uniform collection – whole body or tailor’s dummy type? Please comment on our blog if you have an opinion on them. One of our volunteers kindly found this thought provoking link which adds to our debate. http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/blog/how-to-dress-a-mannequi/. See you all next week.
