What a windy day at the former RAF Metheringham airfield today, but this did not stop our eleven volunteers coming along to help.
We conducted a variety of activities, thanks to Chris, Beryl and Kate for continuing to use their creativity and select appropriate items to match the themes of the new season’s displays.
Gemma did a fantastic job examining, photographing and describing a selection of artefacts that reflect the story of survival at sea.
Tony and David continued digitising photographs and material that will be invaluable for our researchers to use.
All our new volunteers receive training and this week, one of our long standing volunteers, Cliff, worked with Roger and Linda to share his knowledge of how to handle and record photographs.
Wendy and Sue were set a challenge today and “Wow!” did they meet it, by covering an old mannequin with the special material Tyvek, preparatory for when we dress it for display; what a difference they have made!
We are always looking for new volunteers, especially if you have a skill you could share to help us get ready for when we are open to the public. Email us via our contact us page we would love to hear from you. Caterina.
