Another productive day with the Archive Volunteers’ Group at Metheringham Airfield Visitor Centre.
With 13 excellent volunteers we managed to carry out a variety of archive related tasks this week. Neither a hammer nor screwdriver in sight today, however! Our digitization team of Tony, Mike, Cliff and Linda did a fabulous job of scanning and conserving our photographic collection.
Some of our members helped to reorganize our equipment to make more space for our accessioning team. Roger, Sue and Keith focused on recording our reference collection of material and were pleased with the progress they had made. Annabelle and Tracey carried out a review of our pest and environmental monitoring procedures and renewed some of our pest traps. Mike W , Gemma and Beryl started to design a new children’s trail and marketing material; we look forward to seeing their ideas in print soon.
After lunch we had some excellent training from our digitization coordinator Mike Woodward which we all enjoyed; refreshing the previous training received from the University of Lincoln some weeks ago. Thank you Mike for an excellent session of training. See you all next week. Caterina, Curator.
