On a gloriously sunny and warm day, the volunteers known as the AVG (including some new volunteers who joined us today) spent their spare time working hard to preserve the memory of all those who served at the former RAF Metheringham and 106 Squadron.

Some, dressed in WW2 vintage style clothing, recorded and cared for our collection of artefacts and researched information. Our excellent exhibition volunteers continued preparing our new Memorial Room and exhibition space (its really starting to look fantastic); we plan to open it officially to the public soon.

Some of our younger visitors enjoyed playing vintage style games and making and decorating their own Gas Mask boxes. We were joined by the ‘20th Century Soldiers’ Re-enactment group, who recreated a crew room and entertained the visitors with their ‘famous’ cricket set.  Don’t worry if you missed them, luckily they will be there again tomorrow Sunday 21st April. Thanks again to all who spent their time with us today.
